PARSEFAL analyzes log files produced by the MMORPG Everquest 2™ and compiles encounter statistics, which provide valuable information about the performance of combat participants, including to-hit ratios, amount of criticals and how damage splits up between players, combat arts and damage types. PARSEFAL offers a graphical user interface which is easy to use "out of the box", without lengthy setup or customization.

Getting started
- Download the ZIP file and unzip it anywhere you want.
- Double click parsefal.bat to start the parser.
- If you haven't done so already, enable in game logging (/log command).
- Choose "File -> Open logfile..." from the menu. Locate your EQ2 folder and select the logfile you'd like to monitor (you'll only have to do this once, Parsefal will remember the file location). While loading the file, you'll see a progress bar on the lower left.
- While it's loading, you'll see how zone visits and combats are added to the navigator tree on the left.
- Open zone visits and encounters by clicking on the little pluses to the left, like in Windows Explorer.
- Selecting an encounter or combatant will show details to the right. Notice the different tabs. You can sort tables by clicking the respective headers.
- Enable the combat monitor (STRG-K) to view an "always-on-top" window with the stats of the current fight.
Right clicking the combat monitor will give you some options to play with.
Known problems
- Charms can mess up the friend-or-foe detection.
- Player class detection works by mapping combat art names to class names. These mappings are kept in the file "parsefal.classes.config". Currently, this list is far from complete, so often the class name will be blank. You can complete this list yourself by editing the file, if you want. If you do so, please send me your additions or post them in the forum.
